Hi all

We have recently set up a 105 uk gal tank and stripped down the Juwel Rekord 120. Problem is, the mt's have struck! The Juwel tank is all cleaned up and waving at us from the corner shouting "fill me with fish, fill me with fish!"

Sooooo, we were planning on setting up the Juwel tank again, using a sand substrate, and putting back in 3 Platies, 9 Harlequin Rasbora's, 6 cory's, 1 black mollie, and maybe some otto's for some algea cleaning power.

Now the big question..... could we put a Betta in with them?

Hi
My tank has a betta in with Harlequins, a bristlenose and soon he's going to get a platy tankmate. I researched before putting any in with him, and so far, touch wood, it's paid off and everyone gets along, well swimmingly!

i would cut back with some of the stocking lsit and add female bettas instead :) much more compatible :D

I have added 5 female Betta's to my 50 Gallon tank ,and they get on with my other fish OK. I did have to put one of the Angels back into his old tank for two days ,cos he thought he was King of the tank. But that was his problem not the Betta's.

Hi

Thanks for your replies!

I already have the platy's, mollie and Harlequins in the big tank so these are defo going back into the Juwel. I wanted some cory's to help sift the sand and otto's for algae but these are not a necessity. Perhaps only 4 cory's and jsut a coupld of otto's as they are tiny?

I didn't really want female bettas - mainly cos I've never seen them in any LFS around here and I think male betta's are awesome! We are taking a trip to The Goldfish Bowl in Oxford this weekend as I think they may have a good selection and I think they seem quite knowledgeable. I will have a look and see what they say.

Some nice pretty lady bettas would be cool though - and I could have more!
