Well all mine have only ever had an hour, and had dozens of inverts and never lost any.

2.5 hours is fine, there are other factors such as ion content that will affect acclimatisation time, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

I normally did 45 mins - 1.5 hours.

oh so it will be fine, i usually do about 2-3 hours for anything except corals

I do an hour for fish too, did 2 for starfish but I sometimes feel that things are getting more stressed being in a bag or a confined space than they would be in the tank.
