i made this the other day and the silicone has only just cured so turned it on and it works lovely,
its basically an overflow with a powerhead returning the water.
so is it going to do any good or just be a waste of time? DSCN1389.JPGDSCN1388.JPG

Trying to see how you're getting the water into the overflow.

Overall though, anything that increases your water volume and gives you somewhere to put big filters and hide kit from the display is a good thing.

i drilled a few holes in the back of the tank ( its acrylic and i took the fish out first)
it then flows down the drainpipe into the secondary tank.
is then pumped back into main tank.
was thinking of putting a sponge or filter media in the intake of the powerhead to increase bacteria population?
hiding it mayb not so much lol.
i sort of enjoy showing off the madness of what i make

Split off a corner, with an opening at the bottom, fill it with cheap media and let the water enter there. 1 trickle filter.

You can also put the heater in there.

If you want to go really unusual, plant a fern in the ceramic media, just make sure that the water enters below the foliage, otherwise you'll have a flood.

ah i c.
putting the heater in the second tank is a spot on idea.
takes up a lot of space where it is.
many good ideas.
too many for someone as sleepy as me to understand :p
i'll give them a go tomorrow tho.
thanks a lot
