Worst fish situation you've ever seen

I don't think that comment was intended as offensive or that all 'foreigners' do that. But anyway.

Veiltail bettas at a pet shop in so little water they couldn't even flare their fins. One had a red raw back because the water was so low his back was out of it. One of them had finrot and ich, worst case of either I had seen. Horrible.

its the similar topics thing at the end of the thread. people just look them up and post and there you have it, revival

Well i don't think revival of threads like this is a bad thing  .

One of the worst fish situations i have seen recently is a local Chinese takeaway in town they have an aquarium in the takeaway which i'm guessing can't be any larger than 7gallons and it has 3 6inch long fancy goldfish in it. Goldfish in bowls is always a pretty terrible sad sight to see.

I hate it when i see programs on tv like chat shows and they have a goldfish in a bowl or some such similar thing in the chat show rooms lounge as a decoration- its particularly bad because ignorant viewers of the tv program watch the show and probably think "hey that goldfish in the bowl looks pretty cool on that glass coffer table, i think i'll get one for myself!" .
I was watching a movie the other tank and in one of the scenes they had one of those built in aquariums in the wall- it was a pretty cool looking large aquarium however they had stuck some poor huge oddball fish in it (not sure what it was, but it looked vaguely familiar), however this fish was obviously far too large for the tank, it couldn't even turn around and was swimming vertically half the time just to get around in the tank and looked very stressed out  . I really hate it when people just use fish as decorations while putting no thought or care whatsoever into the fishes quality of life.
