Worry

hey Mark - why not keep the info on your tanks up to date? or else just don't supply any. People can only assume that what it says you have is what you have. You can't write you have a Malawi tank cycling and then shout at someone about it being actually mature.

And Rosy had a very bad time over the fruit tetras so jumping in at the end of the thread to have an abrupt critical go at her for housing a beta as she has - following directly advice given her here is not the kind of thing I have come to expect from the members of this forum.

NO i didnt have a go at her it was the people telling her to get a betta as she will have a bad time when housing a betta in a 1g tank they need at least 5 and she only had a bad time with the tetras because you were all making her out to be a devil woman for buying dyed tetras and that they will die and she should take them back. And anyways maybe people should say mark i think you would be best if u did.............. not tell me to go and have a good look at my tanks thats just asking for an argument is it not.

Mark - this is Rosy's thread.
I didn't like your tone with her which I think is inappropriate given the circumstances.
So now I have said so.

but I expect you know that you know best.

Thanks.....

............ me.

You put a tank in your sig mate, so you're inviting comments. It's also a pretty reasonable assumption that it's actually what you own.

Now let's calm this down?

Apparently times have changed since I last looked into bettas. As I recall there was a poll around six months ago that asked what the minimum tank size for a betta was. As I recall most people said between a half and 2 gallons. I think a one gallon should be fine for a betta as long as rosy takes care of it.

PS. We aren't giving a very good impression to the new members guys. Play nice. If I misinformed rosy about the betta I am very sorry but I believe a betta will be happy in that tank.

yh they can be kept in anything 0.5g upwards, just it odesnt look nice but if rosy was to buy a mini mini filter it wud b happier? but it mayb to small? :( sorry not very good with really small tanks...

You should not be keeping a better in a 1g tank at all check in the betta forum at what they should be living in.

I think that you need to spend a bit of time looking at your own tank too mate. You've got shoaling fish on their own (clowns and balas for starters), in a 30G which is far far too small (both clowns and balas will be 6"+ inside a year and max out at a good foot long). You might not be having a problem now, but give it 12 months and your tank will be collapsing into chaos, guaranteed.

Thank your for your concern but I already checked in the betta forum, exactly under "basic and betta care" and it says that bettas can live healthy and well in anything from 1 gallon up.

Thank-you very much for your comment. If I came to this forum is because I want the best for my fish(es) and every comment is welcome. My little tank, is kind of cute, it has a filter and a light.

I oould fit an alsation into the cupboard in my lounge, doesn't mean it's the right place to keep it.
