Worried About Fish Bought Today

Water levels have been stable for the last 4 weeks

Last week i put in 5 neon tetras and water has still been fine - Today i put in 2 bleeding heart tetras, when i was getting the female out of the bag she got quite stressed.

Now she is not swimming as much as the male and she has a bit of a twitch, i am really concerend about her

Just checked water levels again

ph still 7.6
ammonia still 0
Nitrite still 0
but Nitrate has gone from 0 to 5.0

could this be the problem

without more information, you fish might just be shocked from the transition of tanks. if your other tetra does fine, it may just be the fish, sorry to say.

are you planning on more bleeding hearts?? they like to be in at least 5's i think.

It's most likeley a stress induced problem. If it is 'twitching' and flicking against the substrate and tank ornaments it could be the stars of whitespot (common problem after transporting fish)
