Worms?

I had been having a bit of a problem with snails but when I thought everything was peachy again until I spotted something wiggling in my tank!! They are white and no bigger than 1 cm, what are they? are they going to be a problem? Would they have hitched a ride on the plants i put in last week? sorry for all the questions!

Hi, thanks for your reply. At present I'm doing a fishless cycle so there is no food in the tank just bogwood and a few plants. Will the worms cause any problems when i do actually put fish in?

Wthout seeing a picture, it's hard to say exactly what they are and thus wheter they are a threat. The most common thing maching your desctiption would be Planaria Works, as BigC has mentioned. These are harmless, and fish will actualy eat them if they can

Hi Rabbut, I'm using household ammonia that i bought from boots for my fishless cycle. The worms are a bit thicker than a strand of hair but not by much. becky

Would be consistant with the Planairia worms already mentioned I'd leave them be, they'll probibly die off before you get any fish in there.
