Hi, I'm looking for something to set up a worm culture to feed my fish on but the only thing i can find is microworm - is this suitable only for fry or is it good for bigger fish too??

and also - can anyone suggest a worm culture that would be good for my fish and maybe a website or something that sells that sort of thing?

Thanks

what size fish are you fish, what i was going to do was a normal wormery and what u could do is collect the baby worms from this

Ah they're not particularly massive fish - biggest are gouramis and smallest are neon tetras.

I thought of that but I've heard you have to 'milk' earthworms to get the dirt and stuff out of them - just seems a bit too gross! lol.

I know that white worm are popular for bettas and i think other fish will eat them too, but they are fatty so you would only feed now and then - try www.willieswhiteworm.co.uk (uk only) or i got mine from ebay. I think that frozen blood worm works great. They are easy to keep, no mess, no fuss and fish love them. your LFS should have these.

Hope this was of some use

yeh i don't agree with milking earthworms if you think in the wild and they get a worm i dout they take the time to clean it b4 they eat it

I've got frozen bloodworm and daphnia and the fish do adore the bloodworm!

I was just having a think about cultivating live food - im planning on getting some ADFs sometime soon and heard they like live food and i figured the fish would probably appreciate it too.

I'll have a look at white worm.

Thanks very much
