I was just looking at my tank and then i saw this 1 cm long black thing float by and then my betta ate it. I think it was a worm, it was fatish. I originally thought it was a big thick poop but when the betta ate it, he didnt spit it out. If this is a worm, is it harmful?

Well it depends. Do you feed your betta freeze dried bloodworms? If so maybe it was that. What other kinds of food do you feed your fish? Are you sure it didn't look like one of those types?

I feed my fish flakes... Today i was looking at one of my plants (i have fake plants) and i saw a little black worm thing moving around like a leech on the plant. The one from yesturday was bigger and fatter than this one. What are these things!! im getting worried.

ALIEN INVASION! RUN AWAY!

i dont really know.. i have only seen tiny little white worms in my aquarium. Sorry :(

but i would suggest hunting them out, just incase.

I called my lfs and they are not sure but they said it might be a type of hookworm. What do i do?? I only saw 2, the giant one my betta ate (is he gonna die) and a tiny one that got sucked into my filter. He said i might need to get the medicine but then he said it can kill my new shrimp and snail!

i dont think is is hookworm.. they are white. and i dont think they live underwater?

so im not sure.. i would just have a hunt for some, and if you find any, get them out and SQUISH em.

is it a flat worm with a tube a either end of it?

I dont have real plants...

Maybe they are black worm???? im really not sure.

Just done a search and you can get a black leech did it have suckers.

If there not attached to the fish, and the fish have no sores or pierce marks on them, I wouldn't worry just yet.

No live foods. No Bogwood. It walked like a leech maybe it did have suckers? How do you get the leeches? They are not attached to fish. Fish look normal.

By setting a trap, put some beef in a plastic pop bottle.
Do a search on worm traps in tanks.
