Worm Things in my Tank

Hi, I was watching my betta and snails, as I often do when I'm bored, and I noticed that there were a few stringy things that were dancinc around in the water. They were about a cm in length and I'm worried that they might be some kind of parasite. What are they and how can I get them out if they're dangerous?

probably just water polution of some kind, a good water change will fix it

you say 1cm in lenght. Where they whiteish/opaque in colour and move much like a catterpiller?
If so then you have planitia and you have nothing to worry about.
one reason Planetia appears is overfeeding and not cleaning the gravel well enough. I'm not saying that is what you do, just giving the most common cause.
If you don't feed your fish for three days, they will eat the planetia, Yay Free food
