Working at the fish store is pretty neat. Today I got to feed the saltwater fish, which was a lot of fun. There was this cute little lobster that got a fish to eat. When you swish the fish at the top of his tank, he gets so excited! And does he ever eat that fish fast!
Unfortunately, the glass on his tank hasn't been cleaned recently... Ah, well...
Then we have some saltwater fish that spawned
Apparently they've done it before, but as soon as the little guys hatch, they get eaten
I got some pics of the little things, though, and of mommy fanning them.
Mommy fanning the eggs:
Mommy didn't like the camera, so she used her tail to flick some substrate at me:
A couple of close-up pictures of the little "eggs". They look like little purply things with black eyeballs on the end.
Lots of eggs!
These aren't fish, but they're cute nonetheless! They're baby Degus. The smaller ones were born last night. I don't know when the bigger ones were born:
That's all for now. Hope you liked 'em!
I'll try to take pctures of the seahorses next time I'm there. We have a little tiny seahorse! He's less than two inches long! We also have some bigger ones. They're pretty neat.
There are quite a few neat fish and inverts and such there. We're getting Cherry Shrimp tomorrow (yay!). There are some cool saltwater crabs called Arrow Crabs. They are weird looking and quite amusing to watch when they eat. I'll try to get pictures of those guys, too. The eels always look mad, but they're cool looking. The Lookdown fish look really odd
The porcupine puffers are just too cute!
I'll try to take pictures of all these guys, too, when I'm in again.
Oooh, and I got a Coralife t-shirt today
My first fishy shirt!
