ok so my guppy had around 60 fry
i put 20 into a fry tank 20 into a breeding net and left the other 20 to battle it out in the world of guppy land.
anyway i wat about 2 weeks feeding the fry on micro worms and crushed flake. comes to the end of my culture and i forgot to get a tub ready for more micro worms. anyways i thought the are more than big enough now only one fry left in the tank survied and hes swiming around with the parnets with ease no chasing nothing.

anyway i figure i turn out the lights and give the fry a starting chance
i release the fry net and blam the parents go crazy its like one of those parna feeding frenzies but with guppies never seen anything like it
anyway the tanks quite coverd but all the fry that looked strong in the net are the only ones left with around 15-16 chewed to bits scattering the floor with parents pecking at them every now and again. and guess which guppy is the only fry still living it large with the parents. u guessed it the one that was in the tank all the time. was weird he had grown alot bigger than the oens in the net with less food maybe he picked up alot of debris or something.

i was hopeing to release my fry tank back in next week i guess ill leave it another month lol.

My friend has guppies and tleaves the fry in the tank. they seem much faster that the adult fish so keep out of there way

i think its just the parents u have before i had 100 fry and about 70 survived then once i got these 2 new guppie parents for swoping some fry and selling some, they seem to munch on any fry they see aside from the odd one its weird its like they just want to keep one fry every week alive.
like now i have the one thats been in there for ages and one of the smaller ones from the breeder net still swiming about like nothings happend its just freaky is all

ok now something very strange is going on
all of my adult fish are laying around the buttom of the tank and one is just flaoting around in the current at the top
never seen anything like it
its almost as if they have been poisend by the fry??
hope i dont wanke up in the morning to a buch of dead live bearers ive turned out the lights to releave some stress but does anyone have any idea what could be going on?

Sounds like the effects of overeating, bloat. Constipation could follow, feeding a shelled pea, or adding epsom salt to the water should help. Start with one teaspoon of epsom per 10 gallons.

thanks for the help guys i fed them shelled peas seemed to work a treat an hour later they all had some big poops and then were fine.
one thing about the shelled peas i didn't cook them
ive heard some people recommend cooking first any opinions?

The little piggies get themself constipated
Cook frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.
The reason why you have to pop them out of the shell is the fish can't digest the shell bit.

I have the experience of the fry living in community tank is growing rapidly then in fry tank.

Iv had much more sucess letting the fry fend for themselves rather than netting them. They are very good at hideing, and ususally can get away pretty fast if needed. The fry that iv netted on the other hand seem to have no idea what to do, and think they are safe by their parents, which they are not.
