Well if you read my post yest. U would have read that after waiting 2 months for my fish in cycle to finish, i had a ammonia spike, Due to adding more fish in.

Well i am pure cheesing as done a water change yesterday. And wala Ammonia me no see

Glad it worked out ok. Just monitor it for a couple of days to make sure it stays good, and always monitor it for a while after adding livestock.

but why do you need to cycle for 2 months, isnt that a little bit long??

WOOOHOOOO! See, a mini cycle doesnt last too long! Now you know in the future after adding fish what to expect though! I added 5 blue zebra cichlids to my malawi tank 2 weeks ago, didnt get a mini spike, i added 5 red zebra's yesterday and i am expecting a spike when i test later, but just a little one! Sometimes, it depends on how big the fish is too Zoe, the red zebras i added, one of them is 3" long and the others are 1.5", so thats 7.5" in total and i will surely get a spike from that! Glad your sorted! GRJ

Thats how long it took. I had No idea about cycling etc bought a tank and loaded it with unwated fish a friend was getting rid off. i had no deaths think it was due to 3 water changes every day for 2 months. which would also have made cycle longer. well worth the weight tho. my fishless cycle tank only took 2 weeks with no Show of Nitrite it got processed that fast. all tanks are different

Yeah GRJ. Spoke to LPS today as wanted a rusty plec. He says as ammonia back down to 0 adding one more fish now will be fine.

So Rusty has joined the family. He a cracker

Will keep an eye on water again.

glad that the cycling is over. Its the begging that is the hardest, and keeping some money for food and utilities after taking a trip to the lfs
