I'm actually catching my blue rams this time, in the act of laying the eggs. It's so cool!
Usually I just find them already there, the parents guarding over them. But earlier I noticed they were cleaning off the river rock in the back corner, so I've been watching them closely.
The cories will probably get the eggs as they usually do, but it's neat getting to watch them!

Cories getting to cichlid eggs? Gah, poor parents . Anyway, well done, why don't you try and raise some of them?

You could always set up a second tank ,take some water out of the tank the fish eggs are in,take the rock out which the fish eggs are on place it in the 2nd tank with an air stone in it and a good water flow and hopefully you could get some hatchlings. You could separate the fish completely aswell...

Well, I'm not so much into breeding them, but if any survive this time (it's looking a little better than last already!), I'll try to raise them a bit before taking them into the lfs. I did that with my Krib fry a week or so ago.
I do love to watch them and their mating rituals though. Sexy little fishes.... :hey:
