Well sunday was the first day that my nitrites zerod out overnight and they've done it now 2 more days in a row so my fishless cycle is complete.

And today I stopped at my LFS and they finally have in stock the Yo-Yo loaches I asked them to bring in like 3+ weeks ago.

So tomorrow I'm gonna pick them up
I'm thinking 6-7 Yo-Yo's will make a good start and should be lots of fun to look at in the tank.

Undecided what else to put in with them thinking some gouramis or something along those lines.

How long did your cycle take? Someone on another thread mentioned a supplement that can make it happen overnight, but it's apparently expensive and I'm not sure they sell it in the UK (you're US right?)

Yo-Yo's are Pakistani Loaches right? They look like lively little fellas!

Bio-Spira CAN speed up the fishless cycle though I wouldn't consider it overnight.

it's pricey and hard to find.

Yep yo-yos are often called pakistani's. Make sure you do a very large water change (90%) to lower nitrAtes (prefferably to udner 20ppm) before you put any fish in the newly cycled tank.

Yeah I know they're sometimes called that though near me yo-yo's are more often the name.
And yeah I know to make sure I change the water this is the 3rd tank I've fishlessly cycled. Though since my tap water is 40ppm nitrate there is no chance of it being under 20 right off the bat ;)

Well tonight I broke down the wet/dry and got that running since I want a little extra biological filtration AND I wanted something to skim the surface.

So now the tank is WELL filtered. the wet/dry is kicking doing a good job cleaning the surface.

Boiling slate and river rock tonight and then tomorrow morning a HUGE water change and install decorations. Tomorrow afternoon pickup the Yo-Yo's and whatever else I put in the tank.
