Hi all

I have had my 2 wood shrimp now in my 15 gallon for about three weeks, they seem to be doing fine and one has shed its shell the other day so it must be growing. I thought it was a dead shrimp at first then realised it was a shell!!!!

Anyway to the point of this thread. When i first bought the shrimp my tank had only been set up for about two months which is not long enough for sufficent food to be present in the tank. So i have been adding fry food to the tank.

The question is how much fry food should i add?

and how often, when can i stop adding the fry food?

I think i have recently been adding too much too often as i recently had a little ammonia spike when i have never had an ammonia read of any more than 0.

any hekp would be great

thanks in advance :good:

You neednt feed them fry food at all.

Finely crushed flake is fine and tiny pellets of whatever is also fine. They will eat anything they can though, although they prefer to filter it out of the water current they will also sweep the substrate for food.

You do need to watch teh water quality, shrimp are not at all hardy although the bigger ones are slightly better than small ones.
