Wood For Tank

Hello. With advice from here I went and bought wood for my tank from Big Als. Do I need to clean it at all or can I put it in as it is?

Pour boiling water over it, give it a scrub and put it in the tank. You may need to weight it down with rocks if it's buoyant or soak it in water for a few weeks in a separate container if you wish.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I have a question regarding wood that seems wasteful to have it's own thread.

When you soak wood, do you need to use dechlorinated water?

No, only for the last rinse before it goes in
