what should i get for a community fish tank i think im going to go with tetra and some guppys and a few cories for my 20 gall tank but i like the look of real plants :D verses plastic and have never had any real plants  in tank what would be good for me to grow in there and be the hardest and give good background for my little fishies    :band: :fish: :fish: :fish: any help would be greatly appricated

It really depends on how much light you have in your tank. If it's about 1 watt per gallon then I would recommend java ferns, crypts and anubias. They are very hardy, grow slowly and won't be nibbled on. Check Proven Performers for more hardy plant options.
If you have higher light in your tank then you will have many more options but they often need a little more care.
Your First Planted Tank explains the details of keeping a planted tank. Don't worry about CO2 as yet. Just focus on choosing plants, lighting and adding liquid ferts to your water if needed.

Hope this helps. :D
