Hi,

I am looking to get a good camera for taking pictures of my aquariums.

Would something like THIS work?

In general do I just to look for 6.3MP and up or are there other concerns as well?

Thanks

I have a 3.2MP camera with 10x zoom and works fine for me! I know someone that works in a camera shop and asked her what the difference was in the MP and she said if you go higher it jus means you can blow it up further without it going blurry... hth

I have been told that to take photos of fish to get a camera with a good macro mode and a sports mode. The macro bit lets you take close ups of small things and the sports mode gives you clear shots even when the subject is moving....i.e. FISH fit both criteria.

For me I chose the Pentax Optio s50 or s5i. The only diff between them is the s50 runs on standard double A batteries and the s5i runs of rechargeable Li-ion batteries. They both have 5MP, 3x ooptical zoom....dunno about the digital zoom, super macro mode and sports mode.....can't remember the other features.

that is a digital SLR your looking at :) i think you know your stuff :) get a good lens and i think your set, im not a really good camera person but i think digital SLR should do the trick ! its a bit pro level IMO

most digital cameras take good normal pictures. its the up close pictures that a nicer camera is required. if you are real into cameras i would get a Nikon. such nice cameras a bit overkill for fish though.

mmmm I'd love to have a canon digital rebel to take fishy pics with, but I'm just happy with my little point and shot cannon A75 powershot, so i'd say yeah that'll do just nicely.
