I have two young mollies. Even though they are less than three months old, they are clearly male and female. I call my male molly "The Beast" he is twice the size of his sister.

My question is, if I keep both of them, will they interbreed, and will this cause deformities in the young? Should I sell her to the fish store (when she's big enough) and get him a different female companion?

You probably wont get a lot of deformities with the young although the strength of the fish are said to be not as good. You will want to crossbreed with unrelated fish to strengthen the line if you want to breed them succesfully. But no you shouldnt see too many issues with siblings breeding.

Inbreeding is what gets you the different varieties of fish. Balloon Mollies and Lyre Tails are fish that arise from inbreeding. You shouldn't notice any real harm in the fish.

These fish have been inbreed for over 50 years and yes that how the colour forms are developed from the bland wild fish.

Your not have any problems but you may what to think of swapping you young males for a new male once in a while to introduce new blood if you think it's a problem.
