When I bought my betta back in February, he had lovely long fins (he's a veiltail if that helps). He went into a Baby BiOrb, and lived in there for around 8 months until I upgraded his tank a about 3 weeks ago (at last). However, the ceramic media was very rough, and he often 'slept' on it. As time went by, his fins became shorter, tattered and torn, presumably by the ceramic media.
Now he's in his new tank, there is a fair amount of silk plants, sand substrate, a moss ball and some anubias on a piece of driftwood - so no sharp or coarse edges that might damage his fins. Will they ever grow back or is it permenant damage? I've seen no sign of re-growth since he went into his new tank about 3 weeks ago. If they may grow back, is there anything I can do to help them to do so?
Thanks
