Will These Fish Like Sand.

Im changing to sand. I have juse decided. Whenever my catfisg comes out he stirs up the gravel and a shedload of detrius and the like swirls around. I gravel vac every 2 days. Im gonna get some sand and slope it back to front or left to right with a jet that will hopefully collect the crap in one place. Im running an eheim 2228. Any ideas which way i should slope sand?

Also i have angels, firemouths, 2 synos, BW tetras and blue tetras, pair dwarf gouramis, red tail shark, common plec. Will they like the sand? Any of them not like it?

Most fish could care less about the substrate and the only ones that do are bottomdwellers and they do better with sand or small, smooth gravel. There shouldn't be any problems with the fish you have.

I have sand in my 96gal and it shows up the crap really badley! I try to clean it every day but then it is just as bad when I get home every evening, lol oh well. But I keep a lot of eels and they like it so......... it doesn't matter.
