Kinda extreme though. Is the tank empty, if so why not just empty the tank and boil the gravel, clean the tank and then replace it all.

Here is a pic of a mosquito larva.

They are worm like and seem to curlas they swim all over the tank. I may just drain and replace the gravel completely. The gravel was put outside as my son tips buckets and I thought they would be okay but I guess water of any sort attract life. I have been cycling the tank sdo it has continuous filter movement.
