Hi, I think what i have in the new tank maybe mosquito lava if i remove them will there be more in the substrate?

Will ammonia kill of what is there?/

If you wait till they hatch into swimming Larvae you can put flour on the water surface that will suffocate them. Kinda extreme though.

Is the tank empty, if so why not just empty the tank and boil the gravel, clean the tank and then replace it all.

don't mosquito's come if the water has been sitting for long time without movement?? also how can that happen, is your tank outside? :)

Are you sure its mosquito larvae, they hang out below the water surface, the eggs float on the water in a cluster, a net would remove them and the larvae are easily removed with a net.
Here is a pic of a mosquito larva.

No these dont hang they curl and don't really seem to look like those.

They are worm like and seem to curlas they swim all over the tank.

I may just drain and replace the gravel completely.

The gravel was put outside as my son tips buckets and I thought they would be okay but I guess water of any sort attract life.

I have been cycling the tank sdo it has continuous filter movement.
