Will Old And New Mix?

Hi,

I've recently rejuvenated my interest in my tank ,re-scaped it and increased the number of fish in the tank.
I've had 6 cardinal tetras and 6 ember tetras for the last couple of years, and decided to buy an additional 6 of each species, taking the totals upto 12 of each. I've noticed that the old timers of both species are keeping their distance from the new comers, and was wondering if they'll mix in time. It's been 4 days since the they were introduced was just wondering.

Just in case anybody else was wondering, the fish are now mixing and shoaling nicely together. A coupple of the old Cardinals are being a bit grumpy still, but do join in occasionally

I was wondering this about my Pygmy Corys. The old 3 I had are still hiding away at the back not really coming out often but they new 4 ( I got on Friday) are always together and actively swimming at the front. It's made me wonder if my older 3 are sick actually. The only times I've seen them all together is when I've been cleaning the tank (so when they think they're in danger basically).

Isn't that what they say the difference between schooling and shoaling fish is?
