Hi im kinder stuck on what to do i have two males fights they both have there own tank/bowl i keep hearing mixed things on wether to put females with them or not and im now really not sure what to do. HELP!!!

I barely know anything about Bettas, but I believe even breeders have to slowly introduce males and females to each other with a long period of seperating a tank into two sections with a divider... But once in the same section the breeders need to supervise and be ready to remove one or the other in an instant.

Thank you really am unsure what to do. My blue male (midnight) has a lovely size tank just seems lonely. The other one which is a very nicely mixed colour (dusk) he seems happy on his own. am well stuck what to do. What kind of fish do you keep?

Males and females should not be kept together. You mention your one fish seems "lonely". Meaning what? He isnt very active? What size tank and does it have a heater and filer? How long have you had him?
cheers

Loney as in looks like his looking for something. Nah his well active as the other half said a lil crasy. a decent sized tank heated. Only got him yesterday. Chat had a chat with the pet shop i got him from and they said i can put two females in with him. im geting really conffused now :S

The guy at the shop is talking nonsense. I wouldnt put any females in with him. Likely they will just fight or kill each other. If he is exploring around and "patrolling" the tank, that is a good sign. If you think hes bored put more plants in the tank. They like to swim thru the stems and rest on them.
all the best
cheers

I don't think they really mind, but I prefer real plants. They benefit the water more and I think they look better anyway!

if you chose to use plastic plants just be careful of any sharp bits that may snag their fins. test the plants by running a pair of nylon stockings over them. if they snag no good (but can use a nail file to file off the snaggy bits). just a head's up. Real plants are the better way to go tho as they help with the water quality.
cheers

i have real plants in my betta tanks, silk plants are also good as they dont damage there fins :good:

Pet stores tend to tell you stuff to get mroe money out of you
