Right i havent seen him eat much, and hes pretty lively.

At first i put a few king british tropical flakes in, doesnt seem to touch it what so ever. I put these tetra pellet food in which is red and is meant to bring out the colours in fish like bettas and gouramis etc, but doesnt seem to touch that. And yesterday i bought catfood pelets and doesnt touch that. Sometimes i see him spitting stuff out? Is this because he doesnt like it, or because hes had too much?

I went to my LFS to buy proper tetra betta food but they had none.

Do bettas eat much? And do you think he nibbles at stuff when im not around? My corys are the same too. Sometimes theyl nibble at the pellets but then go away.

Dont want my fish starving.

Also how often should you feed? Twice a day in small portions? Once in morning and once at night, so that would be like every 12 hours or so.

All mine love the Hikari Betta Bio Gold pellets...they are hard to get round here but one shop puts them by for me...if you want to try a few I could send you some in a icky envelope.... :good:

Yeah theres some of them on ebay, but dont want to fork out if hes not going to eat it. Wasted enough money on things for my tank already by replacing stuff and chucking other stuff away.

Maxta pm me your address and I will send you a few..I got a coup-le of spare stamps :good:

No my nearest LFS didnt have any, and will have to wait before i trudge upto the next nearest one again.

I thought bloodworms were treats that were only meant to be fed a couple of times a week?

PM'd you Liz :good:

I will try these pellets im going to be getting, if he still doesnt eat them im going to get some bloodworms and ask the guy at the shop what exact food he fed them.

Yeah I dont think they should be fed bloodworms all the time.. I feed my betta a few in the morning then a few at nite :good: .. Then the next day I put in some pellets he wont eat them straight away though  ..He waits until they have went soft and sunk to the bottom before he touches them..But I dont think he eats much of the pellets.. x

you shouldn't be feeding him that many bloodworms. it's not good for him. you may have to just not feed them for a few weeks and only put pellets in.

mine get bloodworms once a week. if he doesn't like pellets, try flakes. mine won't touch flakes though and i've heard they arent as good for them.

Ok tropical I will try that.. Why are the bloodworms not good for them? I will start giving him the worms once a week and try and get him to take the pellets more..x

:hyper: :hyper: candy candy too much sugar...mine are good. they eat pellets, some neon tiny pellets I had to get when I couldnt get betta ones, flakes but only the good tropical not the rubbishy, defrosted prawns, peas, frozen bloodworms and goldfish flakes the other day when I picked them up by mistake.....Fave is live food though! :shout:

I feed mine Tetra Betta and luckily for me he really likes it. I'm thinking I've just got a very unfussy one though - if the Danios have failed to notice one of their flakes and they're not around he'll quickly go and get it!

It might be worth trying the Tetra Betta stuff though - mine absolutely loves it and it didn't cost very much either.

My betta likes King British Catfish Pellet food lol. Rarely touches the flakes and i bought some aqua one betta pellets and dont think he touched them either.
