will mollies eat their fry? i have 7 females and 1 male mollie in my tank, and about a week ago i noticed 3 babies sitting on the bottom of my well planted tank i was expecting more but because my females are still young they cant have as many fry yet,
a couple of nights ago i was checking my tank to see if i could spot my fry and i saw two so i was quite happy to leave them in the main tank and as i was cleaning them today i realised i only have one survivour who is growing well, do you think these were weak fry or do you think my mollies have been eating them, im hoping the fry could stay in the main with lots of hiding places,
how do the people who do leave mollies and fry in the SAME tank do it? any advice would be much appreciated, thanks

i myself have never had a molly that ate fry, but i suppose it could be possible although molly fry do tend to be bigger, but loads of hiding places, maybe a few floating plants? would ensure some survive

My mollies eat their fry. The one you have remaining is probably a fast swimmer, yes? It's survival of the fittest when it comes to them. :D

yer i saw the mother eat her own babie then went to get another but i saved him :)

all depends.. if she can catch them and feels like sumthing too eat... u could safely bet she will 'ave em :(
