i need to keep my Males Bubble Nest intact so i have to turn the Sponge filter off,
will my tank be okay heating wise..
its a 30 litre tank with a 50w Heater

Just turn the sponge filter down to a bubble every few seconds
If the heater has it up to temp now it fine.

or use a small piece of polystyrene, it will sit just under the water surface, half a poly cup works well too.

using the poly cup is excellent!

even if there is loads of surface movment the surface tension is never disturbed under the cup as the bubbles move with it.
