Okay, so, wells; I have a snail problem in my main (10-gallon) tank, and I'm just wondering: I heard somewhere that you can use iceberg lettuce, or any type of lettuce, really, to get rid of the snails. They're all over my tank and in many different hiding places, so the method of just "grabbing and squishing them" does not work. Please, help? ^^;

put the lettuce in the tank before lights out. in the morning there should be snails all over it so just take it out and repeat process.
really tho,, the only time a tank is overRUN with snails is when you overfeed the tank and dont do good enough maintenance in the substrate when you do a waterchange.
good luck

I actually WANT some of the tiny snail, but I can't find them ANYWHERE. I live inthe Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas and would appreciate any help ;).

Clown loach for a week, then sell it on or take back to fish shop, its the only certain you will get rid of them

Dont you dare!!! Bad move. You get attached to the little fella and then end up keeping it in a tank that is WAY too small.

You need to "manage" the snail population. They can be a big bonus to have as if (for example) you accidentally overfed before you went on hols - instead of the food breaking down into ammonia and poisoning the tank - the snails would mop up the majority of the food and you wouldnt get an ammonia spike.

..so just keep the numbers down by taking any larger ones out so they dont breed, and using a piece of cucumber/letuice to trap and remove some of them now and then.
