hy, i have a ten gallon with 6 danios, a small pleco, two dwarf frogs and a male and female guppy.

i know my tank is pressed for space, and i plan on rehoming the pleco once he gets too big, but what are the chances of one or two guppy fry surviving in my comunity tank? i have placed many smoothe sanded rocks and quite a few small shells on the bottom for pertection, but i want to know my odds of having a few guppy fry survive till adulthood, since my parents dont want me saving fry and becoming overpopulated.

so will any survive?

No your fry won't survive with these fish you mention. Dwarf frog will eat fry, danios will eat the fry and the parents will eat fry. So I guess you might got a lucky fry or two. But why female guppy if your parents don't want more tank for the fry? Just trade the female guppy for another male guppy at LFS.

well, my plan is to eather guilt her into saving a few fry or nagging her untill she lets me, but both might take a while so i was wondering if any fry would survive in the meantime.

Wait till you get loads of fry, loads of fry and more fry then your fry being breeding to make more fry. The guppies can quickly overpopulated the tank in no time. That's what it happened to me. I got a female fry then bred her to some male guppies then brought her home then now I have more than 45 guppies of different ages and generation from a single female guppy. Same as with endlers and dwarf livebearers.

Just save very few fry, not all of them.

thanks butch, i will hopefully be rewarded with many fry soon!
