Will liquid fertilizer and fertlizer spikes cause my nitrates and nitrites to be off?

what do you mean by off ?
in my experience (i dont know if it is really accurate though) my nitrates dropped considerably when i dosed ferts BUUUT because my plants where lacking other trace elements they need to more rapidly suck up the nitrates :) so when i dosed, the plants got the other stuff that they needed, they started taking up nitrates again... but im not really sure if thats the case

off + for my nitrates and nitrites to be at a level other then normal according to the test kits.

oic in that case in depends on the fertilizer :) some ferts contain nitrates and some dont :) if you dont want to up your nitrates go for the phospate nitrate free ferts :)

They shouldn't have any effect on you nitrites. Nitrite only comes from processed ammonia and is handled by the bacteria colony. I haven't noticed any change in my nitrates with the use of ferts. If anything, I would tend to agree with kenneth_kpe that they may actually aid in lowering nitrates since they give plants the full compliment of nutrients they need so they use the nitrates better.
