Will Dwarf Gouramis Eat Mollie Fry ?

We have a 60llts tank with 3 female mollies 2 guppy and 2 dwarf gouramies , will any of the fish eat the new born mollie fry ?

All fish will eat young fry.
You need to buy a breeding box with a lid, or plenty of plants and hiding spaces, this way some of the fry should survive.

Right, just dashed out and bought a box, we have one new born so far, all three mollies look expectant, so don't know who's the mother, do they give birth over a period of time or will she just be having that one ?

Livebearers give birth every month so you can soon get over run with them.
Females can also store sperm for several months if you don't have a male in the tank.

Does anybody know about the birthing time scale ? if she was going to have more, would she of by now or is it usually spread over a period of hours ?

There are just 2 molly fry, as I did not see my fish give birth I do not know when they were born, can I expect more if they were born today? Or do they give birth to all fry within a short space of time?

Yes the female can give birth to a few then stop.
She should give birth to the rest in aday.
A good sign to go by is that the mother will still look fat, they should look slim when they have finished giving birth.

Ok thanks for the advice, I don't think she is going to have any more, well it would have helped if I had known which of the 3 molly's gave birth, I am thinking it is my black molly as she has been in hiding for the last day or so, yet the babies look more like my marbled molly, so who knows, both still look fat, I am happy with just the 2 fry, just hope they survive, I have spent the last 6 hours watching my tank, and feel like a proud parent..lol.

Yes congrats Debbie. I've know livebearers to give birth all at once, and sometimes over a 24 hour period. The fry could be from your Black Molly. The male may not have been a black Molly.
