Only have 3 cardinals left now, but my other fish are fine!!!!!!

Just done tests on water:

Left to right

Nitrate 0 ammonia 0 ph 7.5 nitrite 0

Couldnt get through to shop today to find out their PH, but its close to the other shop i buy from, so guess they must be on the same water mains and shouldnt be different really.

But if it was PH shock, it still doesnt account for my Betta that got those infections, or could it have been a BIG coinsidence?

If the ph is close it sounds like you got a bad batch, the fish that died had columnaris it had pink in it's stredded tail as well, I would add some salt to your tank as the desease hates salt, also I think I would add an anti internal bacteria med to be on the safe side, good luck with the remaining fish.

Put antibacterial in there.
Not 100% sure on salk cause of my plecs.
As i said other fish are fine, but i think the last 3 cardinals only have days to go. Ones looking bad already!!!

Did my betta catch columnaris from the cardinals???

You got them on sunday didn't you, was the betta fine before you added them, showing no signs of ilness and being lethargic.

Betta was absolutley fine, nothing wrong at all. Yup, cardinals in on sunday, monday night noticed the small mark, tuesday night, half rotted away!!

I would say the cardinals then, that's why is best to own a quarantine tank so you can issolate them for a while so you no they are not fetching desease in,also you can use the tank as a hospital ltank when a fish becomes ill and you can issolate it, sorry for your problems, if you do lose all the cardinals i woulod strip the tank down and start again, sterilsing everything and throwing all the sponges away, it's sad time when you lose one of your favourite fish, just hold in there, sometimes we all have to learn the hard way, but you will no in future to quarantine new fish, good luck with your next purchase of fish.
