Wild Guppies

you guys are really lucky, i would love to have a pair if wild guppies swimming round in my tank :D

Hey guys help me out. I have a pic but i don't know how to add it am novice with this forum thing. Can you guys walk me throu it? :D

Well, I would reccomend setting up an account (free) at www.photobucket.com. From there you can add pics to your album and with every pic, it gives you the URL of the pic, from there you can copy the URL and add a reply on here, not a fast reply though, You will then notice a picture of a tree in the blue bar towards the top when creating the reply, click on it, It will then ask for that URL, give it that and then click OK or whatever it says to place it on the reply, then click ok to reply. Then it should show up on the reply :D

Is it the one in the back, if it is the one in the front, that is a swordtail :D You should be able to put the picture straight onto the post like this

You should be able to do this by clicking on the little pic of a tree on the bar, it is next to the envelope or if you like to count the 8th one down, it is on the bar that has the things for changing your font to italics or bold or underlined :D

You must have done something wrong with the pic, Oh well. It definately Looks like a swordtail, if you could, could you get a close up pic of her :D

Edit: did you get that one from a stream or where ever :/

I found her in a little pond in my village. I had a pic of it but i can't seem to find it right now. I'll post it when i do find it thou. People who are not really educated about fish usually come to my house and think its a gold fish  They normally say guppy don't carry these colours, so i say in return suppose you see the fancy ones

I would start telling them that you have a swordtail, which I swear it is, you should see if you can get any males like that from the pond, if you can, look and see if they have the elongated pointy ended tail :D

Thanks. I will be sure to tell them that next time. Am going to look about those males you tell me about aswell. I''l take a pic to make sure :)

That definately is a pineapple swordtail, I have had one myself before :D, here is a pic of a female and a male

A female

Hey nice to meet a caribbean man on the forum :) . You are right the wild guppies are very strong and can strive in almost any condition once there is water. I know people keep guppies in little drums in their backyard without feeding them or changing their water at all and you will be surpised to see them still breeding and striving strong in these conditions. They are very hard to die.

That's what i do :D
I have 100gallon garbage bin outside which collects water from the roof for me too water the plants.... Mosquitoes were breeding in it so i put some guppies in there....

And that pic you uploaded is either a swordtail or platy, not as closely related to the guppy but from the same family.... how big is she?

Your BIG female in the first picture, It's a marigold female swordtail. are they as tame as the ones you by at stores, I doubt you buy at stores, hehe. But do they live in the tanks with no problem? And evan, you put your guppies into the garbage bin? hmm, Thats very un-refreshing, hehe. But yep all those seem to be Swortails, not guppies. Thats awesome that you guys can go out and catch pure wild swortails.
