Was shopping the other day with the missus, and we picked up a scented candle for the lounge (where i am about to start the tank cycling).. well.. no idea why, but i started reading the box, and i noticed that it said something about being harmful to aquatic stuff (cant remember the wording), is this right.??

Got me thinking, what other stuff could affect the little fellas..

Cheers

as long as you dont put the candle in the fish tank, . why put that on a ticket of a candle

There are a lot of chemicals that are dangerous to aquatic life. On a small scale anything that can get in the water could be toxic. There are lots of household products that will reduce the oxygen carrying content of the water (cleaning products).
Insect repleant (both those with deet and powder types) are lethal.

I would imagine it is the ingredient that produces the scent that could/would be a problem. It's the same as not painting in a room with a tank as the vapors can get into the water (or so I have read, no personal experience).
