now that ive been watching my tank alot today, there are a few things i would like to see if anyone can relate or help....
there are some wierd things that are just plain annoying or i dunno, confuse me....
1. i have had my 3 otos ever since i got my tank. they would always suck on the glass and act "normal". for the past couple months, i dont even see them. i know they are there because they hide among the plnats, but i dont think they have sucked on the glass for algae for months. and if i do disturb them while vacuuming, they freak out, circle the tank at full speed and then hide again.
this cant be normal, i dont even know when they eat now. has this happened to anyone? or know why they are doing that?
2. my tank is alwasy covered in algae. I mean covered, it is horrible and i cant stand it, but i have grown to get use to it and just clean it. it is so bad and i have never see any tank like this.
the gravel and glass get covered the most, so bad that my gravel is a whitish grey and it starts to look dark grey/brown in a week or 2 if i skip a cleaning.
i do add iron and potassium fertilizer, and have root tabs, add co2 and have almost 3wpg. i try to not overdose fertilizer, but if i go to little, the algae stops alot, but still grows while my plants suffer. if i go more, my plants do great but the tank growns much more algae. my driftwood even has a thin lyaer of light green stuff (probably algae). it comes off easily, but its still there and bugs me.
any opinions?
well i think there was a couple more, but i forgot, ill put them up if i remember.
any stories or opinions or reasons why will help. thanks a bunch guys
