I got my planted tank up and running and now that I am away on business it seems I have a problem. My fiance took this pictures for me so I could get some advice from you guys. It is a 55 gallon tank with low light plants, i use aquarium vital as my carbon source, fluval 305 and a tetra 60 for filters, and fully stocked tank with discuss, tetra's, plec, syno, and oto's. I have developed what appears to be a string like algae to go along with black algae, but the plants I put in are growing really fast...here are some pictures if anyone has some suggestions to clean it up. Water stats are good, but the water is a little hard right now. I have floride in the sand substrate and roottabs in sand as well. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
