i think the ram difficulty is a myth. its only hard if ur a lazy tank keeper IMO. im a newbie 2 the whole tropical fish world n i have 2 gold rams. the key 2 the rams is ur water quality. if u can stay on top of ur water quality (which should b easy) then u can keep rams. this is my opinion so dont go by what i am telling u. research them for yourself and wait for sum1 else to post a reply to your question. nuthing beats a 2nd opinion.
I agree. All it takes to keep ANY fish in good health is good water quality. If you can keep all levels excellent and keep on top of maintainance you shouldn't have problems.
Also, don't bother tampering with pH or anything. Unless you want to breed, most any STABLE pH (within reason of course) should do for most any fish. I keep rams and my pH is 8.0.
hmmm I've had no problems with my ram, He's been alive and running and going strong for about 2 months now (which I know isn't too long) but he seems fine to me. I just do my bi weekly water changes of 25% and feed them daily and no problems.
