:-( After losing a Couple of Beloved Oscars to HITH.

I decided to start up a Tropical tank again. So I throughly disinfected my Tanks, Let them set a few days, after Cleaning them out.

Then Set it Up letting Filters and all run for about a week before adding any fish.

I started out the Tank with A Platie, Two Marble Mollies, and Two Cory Cats.

Added Bio Zyme to help along the Cycling a little Faster.

This has been 3 months Now.

The Tank has Cycled, the Ammo and Nitrites or Nitrates I can't keep the two straight have Spiked,
And everything has Dropped back to ZERO just as they should.

The One Platie I had then decided to get Ich. Dosed the tank with Quick Cure, after three days the Ich was gone, I waited about a week and went and Yes I souldv'e known Beteer to Wal Mart and bought me Two more Platies and a Couple of Mollies, to almost Stock out my tank.
I want to keep Ten fish in a 29 gallon tank.
And I know 4 Mollies, 4 Platies and 2 Cory Cats aren't to much for a 29 Gallon Tank, I've kept twice that many before without any Problems.

ANYWAY.

The tank is kept at a constant 77 degress F, PH is 7.0.
The First Platie devoloped Ich AGAIN, then one of the new Mollies as well as one of the Other Platies.
Treated them again. GOT rid of the Ich, did a Water Change on my tank, Everything Seemed Fine.

Then the one of the New Mollies Died, then the New Platie.

Waited awhile before getting anymore to Make Sure it evened Out.

Got a Few More fish to finish out my stocking, Everything went fine for a few days, Everyone Was eating Good and Happlily Swiming.

The First Platie just Died OVERNIGHT, without me even knowing there was anything Wrong She had eaten Fine the Night before.

A day later the SAME thing one of the New Platies ate just fine the Night Before DEAD the Next Morning, This Morning as a matter of fact. :-( :/ :hyper: :(

And I have no Idea Why, Was time to CLEAN my Tank today so I did it, all Nice and CLEAN.
Fed my Fish tonight Everyone ate just Fine.

Guess What one of my New White Sailfin Mollies is doing the samething now, But instead of Floating just below the Surface, Shes Laying on the Bottom almost on Her Side. :S :-(

And I fear that when I get up in the Morning I'm GOING to have another Dead Fish??? :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

In almost 37 years of Fishkeeping I've had Die Off's from SICKNESS. Once or Twice because of The Power going out and the Temp dropping to low. And a few of them not being able to take it, and they died.

But NEVER like this for NO APPERANT Reason. :S  :( :-(

Anyone with "ANY IDEAS" This Old Hand would be most "GREATFUL"

Thanks for all your HELP in ADVANCE... "I NEED IT!!!"

Wow, sounds like you've been having a lot of trouble! I'm a little confused by your post...but if you answer these questions, it would help a lot. :)

What were your latest water stats?
The tank is cycled now,correct?
What is your water change schedule?
Male to female ratio?

To me it sounds like you aren't getting healthy fish in the first place. And it seems they are getting stressed too, since they keep getting ich. However, the reason your first fish probably died is because they were in the cycling process. Letting the tank run for a week doesn't cycle it. The cycle doesn't start until ammonia is added, which the fish added....so then they were in the cycling process.

Can you give me like..a little timeline of what happened? I don't know if it's my cold or what, but I'm having a little trouble figuring out your post! Sorry! :X

Well it could be the source of where you are getting your fish from. Are you purchasing them from the same shop as you did for all the rest? If so, this is most likely your problem, so try going to another local store, once the tank seems ok, and the problem may not occur again. ;)

Do you run a Co2 unit at all or do you have the tank heavily planted?
If yes to either, consider a night shut off valve for the Co2 or for the case of heavily planted, use an airline.
Plants produce Co2 at night and O2 during the day, could there be any way that your fish are being suffocated during the night by lack of O2?

Just a suggestion, maybe someone who knows more about Co2 could comment (please)

My latest stats are as follows:

Ammonia 0 ppm, nitrates/nitrites as I said I can't keep the two straight is .10 ppm, and PH is 7.0.

Yes my tank is now cycled, the Spike has happened for both, and now all is where I believe they should be.
My Water change Sehedule is 25 - 30% Water Change every two weeks,
With a Hoovering of the Gravel every four weeks.
Sponge filter Rinsed out every week, Done in water from the tank.
Male to Female ratio is 1 male to 2-3 Females.

I chocked up the First One as you said to the Cycling of the tank.

But when the others started doing the samething, It started to drive me a bit nuts.
I bought a couple from 1 Walmart, a Couple of the others from another Wal Mart.
Yes I figure they get all their fish from the same Supplier.

And the other I bought from a Pet Shop I had bought some from quite alot over the years, it's Close by the second Wal Mart, But I doubt they run the same Supplier.

I only have a couple of Small Live Plants in the tank, the rest are Plastic ones with a few odd ball Decorations that I've been using Off and On for Years.

What gets Me is I'm not doing anything Different that I haven't done a Million Times over the years,
And now I start having Problems. "GO FIGURE" :/ :sly:

I know sometimes things Change and you have to change with them, But this is rediclous.

But THANKS in advance for any and all Ideas and Advice.

   "THANKS EVERYONE" For all of the Ideas and advice...

But by GOD's Merciful Grace.

It seems my tank has turned the Corner towards Good.

All of my REMAINIG Fish have become Perky, Happy and VERY, VERY, VERY eager to FEED.

The way they eat Now, I've not seen them Eat like this in WEEKS... :D

Once again Thanks Fish Forums... And the MEMBERS there of...
