Any keen fisherman will ask, why use a rod and reel when they see this video!

The fish want to be caught!

Amazing...

Watch the whole video and don't be put off by the start - it's incredible at the end!

I was on holiday in Botswana recently and a fish just jumped right into our boat (mokoro actually) - in broad daylight !
The poler (holding the fish in the pic) was mortified that we wanted to throw the fish back - he said that's his dinner that night !

...looks like a shoal of one type of fish... being chased by a smaller shoal of predators... When fishing, I've seen shoals Roach 'jumping' to escape hunting Perch or Pike...

My mom is a skipper who delivers new catamaran yachts from Cape Town to the Carribean, while crossing she sometimes has flying fish jumping onto the boat!

Tiny ones too, fit into a matchbox!!

:)

The full size 8MP pic of that last photo is awesome - but unfortunately too large to post here.
You can just about see what it had for breakfast !

So did you let the poler have supper that night? lol

I once had large perch jump into a little rubber dingie, it cut my leg and put a hole in the dingie. Made a good pan fry that night though

Didn't have a choice really - he was poling us through hippo / croc infested waters (see pic of friends in front of us) - I certainly wasn't about to argue with him :look:

lol, you made a good choice. I would have done the same thing. Not that I would have said to throw it back in the first place though.

PS, Thats a great picture.
