Why Oh Why Are There Never Any Good Females Around

I need a few more female betta, preferable hm if I wanted to breed them, as I dont have enough in the 29 gallon and they are starting to bicker if I take one out to condition her. no place sells good females local....no place at all. and my only other option is aquabid and I will end up spending a huge amount of money if I go that route. grrr

I could easily charge 5-10 bucks more for a pretty hm female then a male. because there just arnt any around. I want to get some breeding going, but there is only 5 girls in that tank and if I remove one to get her breeding the tank is going to turn tag team on me.

Can't you just get some normal females to make up the numbers so that you can take your breeding girl out, without it affecting the others so much.

I could pick up some regular females and will probebly have to do that, my husband manages one of the big shoping places so I get a discount too. but I hate creating a greater demand for crap quality fish. do you know what I mean?

Yeah......I do know what you mean. It just perpetuates the supply and demand for them. I suppose we take it for granted here that we have places that keep them in better conditions than where you are. Plus if we ever run short we have Modaz to get more from.

im having the same problem as you -,- I personally like female crowntails over any other fish, even the males cause i like how cute there short tails are all crown looking, even pk crowns are adorable... but im more likely to find a female crown than a pk in any petstore around here, and the ones i do find are just... really bad... lol so i feel your pain D:

The living conditions of all animals his store sells annoys the hell out of my husband. But the store gets run the way the company wants it run. The main goal being money in and crap going out the door with little care as to the actual well being of the animals. My husband tries, his employees try, but the store still sells the super cheap bowls and everything else that goes with that. If someone see the tiny tanks sold thats what they are going to buy instead of something more expensive. In Americas economy we are just glad that he has a steady and reliable job.

I think I am going to have to settle and console myself with some cts. There had better be some pretty colors thats all I can say.

i have found more females in the lfs as of late. and i hate to say it around this time of year wally world usally gets some nice girls. thats where i got my little rascal Rayne from.

also i can request certain fish from my LFS and they order in, have you tried that yet?

check in with Jeffery if you see him i know he is breeding HM and he is in the states. i would shoot him a PM is you can and see if his young are close to being ready.

unfortunately all i can offer you is a mystery snail or two

like i said shoot jeff a pm, he is on erratically these days but a pm my get his attention, if i catch him the the chat room i will tell him you were looking.

if i felt comfortable shiping fish in the mail i would buy you a couple girls from my lfs and mail you them. i am barely comfortable with shipping my baby mystery snails.
