when ever i try spiral vallis again and again it never grows for me yet so many other plants do? what am i doing wrong?

i dont know if this will help or just add to the discussion, but spial vallis grows straight in my tank, and i was told its to do with the light and they are the same plant, i wonder what others think, have some people got both varieties, i can only grow straight vallis, and boy does it grow, well over 2 foot long and im sure others who have had some will verify, and its strong healthy stuff. di id like the spiral kind though

Vallisneria spiralis is commonly called straight vallis. i think it is called "spiralis" because of the flower stalks, which grow in spirals. Vallisneria torta is twisted vallis, and the leaves grow in spirals. which one do you have?

cheers :good:
