Why is my tank always so green?

It's probably algae.

Where is your tank (ie, is it near a window?) and how long is your light on for each day? Reducing the amount of light and feeding less food should reduce algae somewhat...

i get that if im lazy with water changes..

just do 50 percent every week n it should stop the greeness, you can also scrape the glass with credit card or straight edge of plastic
