hi i have a pair of convict cichlids and the female keeps rubbing against the rocks and flicking off them, can anyone please tell me what/why she is doing it. thanks

Can you see any white spots, like little grains of salt on her skin?

mine do this often, its normal as far as im concerned, they have never been ill or had whitespot, but they often flick and rub :) off decs and the gravel, keep an eye on them tho, it could turn into something else, but as i say mine do it all the time

thanks ::thanks: , i have just tested the water and it seems ok

ph - 7.0
ammonium - 0
nitrite - 0.1
nitrate - 5

I dont mean to be picky but any nitrIte reading is not good. Ammonia and nitrite should be 0 in a cycled tank.

How long have you had the tank, how did you cycle it? How many fish do you have?
