Why Is It When You Go To Lfs None Of The Fish Fight?

Just something I thought of... I am always careful about the way I stock my tanks. How come at the LFS they have 25 large angels in a tank and none are fighting? I have four and none of the males can be together.

Stressed and overcrowded. Most takns are more or les bare so they have no territory boundaries and nothing to fight for.

yah, the tanks are bare, no territory, there are so many of them, again, no territory because there is no space, also they are usually juvies - so not as territorial anyway. Also they are pretty stressed/tired and can't be bothered lol

It's because you have 4 & they have 25. Take 4 at random out of that 25, put them in another tank & you will probably have some aggression issues. With 25 in a tank the aggression is spread, much like africans.

aggression occurs. I have seen many a fish with tattered fins and open wounds on their scales... sad sight but an lfs has only so much space so unless a store operates at or above running costs, they cannot keep suficient space for all of the fish
