Why Has My Paradise Fish Got Shy?

Hi, I've had a female paradise fish nwo for about 6 months. She used to be aggressive but calmed down a lot once I added other gouramis to the tank. Thing is that recently I've noticed she's been hiding away and sitting still a lot more. I know that sounds silly but she has always been the most lively fish in there and is always darting around but now she just seems to sit in a shady corner of the tank most of the time.

I've not added any new fish that might be intimidating her and nothing else has changed (Water parameters are all the same).

Any ideas?

She's sick. Have a close look at her, any inflamed gills, spots, bloating, scales look normal?

that's what I thought inititally but I've looked and looked and looked and can't see a thing. colour's normal, not looking bloated or skinnier than normal, scales fine, no wounds and she's swimming normally. nothing abnormal at all! she's just really really quiet!

mmmm, I hate when that happens. When you know they're sick but you don't know whats causing it.

Keep an eye on her, if she's not back to normal in the next 24 hours I would treat for internal bacteria. I've just lost a molly with the same symtoms.

i have a pair of paradise that i moved from my 55g to my 29g with some platties, the female is pretty calm in there. In the 55 they were rather peacefull too. The male has been building bubble nests and trying to get her to drop some eggs, but i've not seen any yet.

the only thing i can think (other than being sick) is that she might be hiding from my CAE? I'm looking at options at the minute of getting him re-homed (either with me or someone else) and I know my ruby shark gides away from him. Could this have anything to do with it?
