Have just had the horrible task of having to get a frog (think it may have been a toad actually) off one of my koi. It had gripped on to the koi's head with its feet in the fishes eyes!
I dread to think what would have happened if i'd left it longer. Koi seems to be ok, she's a beautiful big kikusui - I'm just hoping her eyes will be ok, they dont seem to be damaged.
Please be aware if you have a pond and you are visited by frogs or toads that this can happen. I've had ponds for years and this is the first time its happened to one of my koi..... scary!

If the frogs are in breeding mode which they are right now then they can grip onto fish as if mating
