Why Does This Site Not Allow Secure Connection?

One of the easiest ways to help one have a secure browsing experience is to connect to sites using https. But this site does not permit secure connecting, why not? I find not permitting secure connections to be a way to invalidate the published policy of this site not to track. Are there any plans to change this policy?

Does it really need to be as secure as that? It's not like we're doing any financial transactions on here is it?
