why do they hide

everytime i go to my fish tank and i see the fish i go a bit closer and they always hide.

u'd hide to if sum1 came and started looking in side ur home too.

my fish are the opposite. when they see me, they immediately swim up to the glass, probably expecting food. are your fish relatively new? that could be the problem or maybe they're really shy

Some fish are always shy, i.e. black skirt tetras. Others, i.e. bettas and livebearers, come to the top to feed whenever someone comes to the tank.

It all depends on how long you've had the fish, how stressed out the are, how your tank is set up, and what type of fish you have.

My fish go crazy when I walk up to them!! Pretty much lookin for food. It's cute to watch them come beggin waggin their tales !!!

yep my balloon mollies always flip out when they see me or hear the lid of the aquarium flip open they automaticly know it is time to eat.

lol mine used to do that to until he died, he was one of the cooler fish.
