I've just done a water change on my community tank and I found a very dead, dried up glass catfish behind the tank. Now I know some fish do jump out of the tank but how the hell do they do it with a lid on and just 2 small gaps at the back?? I'm even more surprised that it was a glass cat as they are always at the bottom half of the tank, if it was one fo the blue rams or redline torpedos or the black widows I would have understood.

Do they sit there all day looking at that hole working out how they can get through it? Of do you think they practice time and time again until they get it right?? It baffles me!!

I cover all large holes in my tank lids with parcel tape to prevent such suicide leaps. Worth a try

My guppies try to get around me i think. At night all you can hear from them is thump, thump, thump on the lid but when you take the lid off during the day they don't even try to jump out. They must be waiting for me to trust them enough to leave the lid off 1 night then they will take their chance and jump :shifty: See i take it off in the morn when i wake up and put it back on at night when i go to sleep they really get annoying at night. They are saying come on we won't jump we will sit quietly at night instead just leave the lid off :hey: :shifty:
They hate the lid!
